Can I bring Epinephrine autoinjector to Korea?
Epinephrine autoinjector · EpiPen · Jext · Auvi-Q
Epinephrine autoinjector can be brought into Korea for personal use. Korean customs treats up to six bottles or a three-month supply as personal use.
Epinephrine is not a controlled substance in Korea, and an autoinjector with your name on the prescription label raises no issue at entry. Bring enough for the whole trip: the EpiPen brand is not marketed in Korea, and the one registered autoinjector (Jext) has a history of supply shortages. Keep the injectors in your cabin bag with a doctor's note for the flights.
At the airport
No permit is needed. Keep the medication in its original packaging, and carry the prescription or a doctor's note if your quantity is near the customs line of six bottles or a three-month supply. Amounts above that line should be declared on arrival.
Questions
Can I replace a used EpiPen in Korea?
Do not count on it. Korea's only registered epinephrine autoinjector is Jext, supplied through a central channel with repeated shortages, and EpiPen itself is not sold there. Carry at least two injectors and keep them with you in the cabin.
