NorLevo (active ingredient: Emergency contraception (morning-after pill)) can be brought into Korea for personal use. Korean customs treats up to six bottles or a three-month supply as personal use.

Emergency contraceptive pills are not controlled substances in Korea, so carrying one in your bag is fine under the customs personal-use rule. Inside Korea the rules invert from the US: every emergency contraceptive, levonorgestrel and ulipristal alike, is prescription-only there.

At the airport

No permit is needed. Keep the medication in its original packaging, and carry the prescription or a doctor's note if your quantity is near the customs line of six bottles or a three-month supply. Amounts above that line should be declared on arrival.

Questions

Can I buy Plan B at a Korean pharmacy?

Not off the shelf. Korea requires a doctor's prescription for all emergency contraception, dispensed as NorLevo or ellaOne. Hospitals and clinics can issue one quickly, and some operate at night, but plan for a consultation fee and travel time. Carrying one from home avoids the scramble.
